Church Wedding Video

Frequently asked Questions

WILL MY FILM BE A PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTION?
Yes. We have many years experience of producing wedding videos. All our Wedding Films are produced using professional digital cameras and professional grade tapes and DVDs. Sound is recorded using studio quality microphones. In church a radio microphone is placed on the groom which also picks up the bride and the minister. At the reception each main speaker is given a microphone. Editing is carried out on one of the latest digital editing suites.

WILL I BE CAMERA SHY?
You have so many other things to think about you will not notice us. We pride ourselves on our discretion. We do not ask you pose for shots. We feel the day belongs to you and we are there to record events as they happen, not dictate what happens.

WHAT ABOUT TITLES?
Titles are included in the price and we can also tailor them to your requirements. Titles over photographs of the bride and groom as children is one option.

WILL THE CHURCH HAVE ANY OBJECTIONS?
Sometimes. It is essential that you obtain permission from your clergyman before you book your video. Some put restrictions on where the cameraman can stand and what he can film. It is for this reason that we always try to attend the rehearsal. Some churches make a charge for allowing the service to be filmed. This fee, if required, should be paid directly to your clergyman. Some need persuading a Wedding Film will be discreet. If you have any problems we will gladly talk to him for you.

DO I STILL NEED A PHOTOGRAPHER?
Yes, but please let him know you are having a video and if he wishes we can talk to him beforehand to reassure him we will not walk into his best shot.

HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY WEDDING FILM?
We accept most methods of payment, cash, cheque or credit/debit card. There is a £100 booking fee and the balance is due three weeks before the day. If you wish you can spread the cost by paying in monthly instalments with the last payment due two weeks before the wedding.

CAN I GET EXTRA COPIES?
Yes. Copies are available in all the common formats and can be converted to any world-wide standard for you to send to your friends and relations abroad. An edited copy makes an ideal thank you gift for your guests. Ask about our special, low cost, gift rates.

WHAT GUARANTEES DO I HAVE?
With a Wedding Film there cannot be a second chance. We have been filming weddings since 1985 and have a wealth of experience in all areas of weddings. We do our utmost to ensure equipment is in good working order and we do carry spare equipment but we cannot be held responsible for any equipment malfunction, unavoidable delay or any circumstance beyond our control. As a member of the Institute of Videography we abide by their code of practice. If you wish, we will watch your completed video with you, and if you are not satisfied, we will refund your money and retain the video.

WHAT IS THE INSTITUTE OF VIDEOGRAPHY?
It is a body set up in 1984 to promote professionalism in video production. To be accepted as a member a production has to be assessed by a team of experienced professionals. Only when a high standard has been achieved is membership awarded. Master and Fellow membership is recognised by the Dept. of Trade and Industry as a professional qualification. The IOV has an arbitration service to help resolve any disputes that may arise.

HOW DO I CHOOSE?
We strongly advise hiring a professional to film your wedding. We are often asked to try and improve videos shot by amateurs. This is very difficult and can cost as much as hiring a professional at the outset. We also advise you not to make a decision by price alone and suggest you ask to see at least two sample videos from each company before making a final decision. The Institute of Videography produce a brochure called "The Bride's Guide" which you can read by clicking on the link. We have been filming weddings and providing video services since 1985 and have grown quite a reputation for being discreet and unobtrusive. This site gives an indication of the services available but we will tailor the video to your needs. We never 'set up' a scene unless you ask us to do so. We always dress tidily in suits and ties (never jeans and tee-shirts!) We never get in the way of the photographer and we never ask the vicar to 'do it again'!

CAN I SEE A SAMPLE OF YOUR WORK?
Yes. Just give us a call to arrange a free demonstration, in your home, with no obligation and no high pressure sales talk. You can then see our work and we can find out your exact requirements. We will leave you a booking form for you to complete at your leisure. You can see some online samples by clicking here
